I remember reading somewhere that caps in parallel or series requires a circut involving diodes I believe or some signal feedback can occur.Does this only apply to higher voltages than we are talking about in stompboxes?

rackin' my mind...are you talking about using diodes and poly's or ceramics to simulate an electrolytic ?

KevinSTP

I have seen it mentioned here to parallel caps to get values you need, but I read somewhere that there was more to it than, that maybe they meant electrolytics and it does not apply to nonelectros.

You can put any form of cap in parralel and the values will add up. But don't mix 'em asin polarised/non polarised.
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

Actually, per Aron's FAQ, you can mix two polarized caps to get a non polarized cap. You run em in series with the two negative connections together.

right it but i believe he was tlakin bout using a ceramic and a polarized as an example
