My power supply is quite simple. It has multiple secondary voltage, 3v, 4.5v, 6v, 9v and 12v. http://www.angelfire.com/weird2/zener/My_Power_Supply.jpg. The extra 1000uf cap in green is not needed.

I have one at the site. It has both pos and neg with ground. Its used 78XX and 79XX regulators. Check under the downloads area for the PCB/Layout.
