If your reading this then I have got your attention at least for a min. Eddies first rig involved achieving cranked amp tone at low vol. That isnt the main purpose of this post hower, rather its how he ran his delay /rev/ modulation effects . This was done post amp/post speaker / into modulation, delay[echoplex] etc. then into a clean power amp for vol.I believe. Iwanted to experiment with post amp placement of reverb and delays but in a small way. Using classic 30/ and before the speaker. What type of box would I have to build to achieve this type of effect. I know that I cant just plug a reverb or delay inline but rather I would rather need some type of boost or linelevelor type box.....My end result that I want to achieve [this would be the effects chain...guitar/comp./eq/dist/amp/out to speaker into reverb /from reverb then I want to run it either into a clean fender solid for re-amplification I want to achieve time based delay reverbs out of the path of the tone producing effects...amptone.com has a ton of post s on these type of subjects. But I want to do it in a small way.

I'm not exactly sure what you want to do, but if you want the output of a cranked amp into line level effects, what you need is a load box.

The webervst.com MASS is one example. There are several others that are either passive (acts as a speaker load typically using big power resistors), or active like the MASS.

In any case, you can crank your amp into these load boxes and they absorb all of the power output except the little that you trickle into your line based effects, which you then send to another power amp.

Like I said, the WeberVST Mass is one:

Good Luck.

You could use a THD Hotplate. It delivers line level----Reverb/ Delay--Power Amp --Box. This could be one side of a 4x12 stereo Cab.

Phaser and Flanger in front of the amp( except Unchained, Flanger post amp...).

I`m not sure if the delay in "Ain`t talking about love" is in front of the marshall.

The reverb is very important( hard panned).

I'm a little foggy about what the question is here, but am I wrong in thinking that the reverb on the first VH record was added during the mix, and hard panned to the opposite side of the guitar?

If you want to achieve that sound live, you just need to use two amps. Run a line out of the main amp if there is one, or hell, even mic it! Send that to a digital reverb unit set for all wet, probably on a Plate setting and send that to another clean amp.
