Ive got a FF with Q1 Hfe 104 [and would like to try a Ge with Hfe 74 in Q1]
 Q2 is now a Ge Hfe 148
 Having a low gainer in Q1 [74 Hfe] would you recommend a Q2 of 148 or 104 [these are the choices I have, both Ge...

that's an easy one!  put a transistor socket in and use a pot for Q2's collector resistor...  see what you like the most.  :P
