I bought this= External Power Jack - Metal bushing, Mouser p/n 163-4304 for 2.1 mm female plug. from small bear..Seems to work at first now nothing. Wiggle it a little and it makes a noise. Im used to useing the plastic boss style ones. Is there something i dont know about these metal/chrome ones versus the plastic ones?

Hi, you might be shorting your power on your enclosure with the metal style jack.  Jered
