I came prepared to snicker (ok, so I did a bit), but somehow when the singing kicks off it all works (sort of).

Only the mp3 links work for me:

The segue from Anarchy in the UK into Eleanor Rigby is inspired...

AWESOME! 8)

Black Sabbath, Edgar Winter, Jimi, Sex Pistols, Boston, Otis Redding..... that's just amazing! :D :D :D

I built an electric ukulele many years ago but it didn't work out.

BTW: The "free ride" link works if you manually replace "free%20ride.mp3" with "free-ride.mp3".

Thanks Gez!!!!

Maybe it's partly because I like weird cover versions a lot, but those tracks made me happy. Thanks for the link!

Hmmm... Got to check that folkurban ukulele article again...

Listen to the instrumental break after the chorus in Live and Let Die.  It rocks!  Those are some cool Mp3s.  I haven't touched my Uke in years, but now I have the urge to learn  Purple Haze.

I wouldnt mind learning how to play uke- Have any of you heard "Devil and the deep blue see" on George Harrison's Brainwashed album? I really like that.

If you play guitar, there's really nothing to learning uke. It's really nothing more than a small guitar. All the chord shapes on the high four guitar strings transfer directly to uke.

There is a niche market for a tiny acoustic "travel guitar", typified by the Martin Backpacker. And some considerable effort has been spent trying to make such small body instruments sound more like full sized guitars. Unfortuantely, it's not possible. But a workable "travel guitar" has already been designed and optimized, and in use for quite a while. Otherwise known as the ukulele.

Cool, at least.

To stay in the same mood, you should check Harry Manx's versions of Foxy Lady, Voodoo Child, or The Thrill Is Gone.

Outstanding. I saw him live a couple of times. Very professional... and different.

Check his guitar. He also plays bango, of course  :D
