Hi guys, I was fooling around with my laptop and I found a paper that I've downloaded long time ago:
https://db.tt/DmyAqStB

Probably many of you have seen it before, but I thought  maybe it worths discution and maybe promoting.

There are alot of triode emulators around (Fetzer, russian schematic,...) and many of them work realy close, but the interesting thing about this circuit is the clipping waveforms and harmonic content.

There is a building block on Figure-6 of the document that suppose to emulate a 12ax7 and also there is an example of using it in a microphone preamp at the end of the document; so maybe we can use this block for emulating preamp section of famous tube amps...

So what do you think guys?
Please share your thoughts...

That's  Pritchard's  tube emulator paper. There's a lot missing there.  Check his patents for more details and also: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/instruments-amps/42070-tube-emulation-pritchard-article.html

Cheers.

Thank you so much man, looks like the guy has his own amplifier company :icon_biggrin:
So I guess he doesn't want us to find out more about his circuits!

Quite to the contrary (US5434536): Semiconductor Emulation of Vacuum Tubes

Quoting Teemu's on diyaudio: "He explain the stuff in a very good detail, but in bits and parts so it takes a while to open up."

Cheers.
