well judging from what i've heard, ben, you take out the buffers so you have your high impedence signal from the pickups go into your non-buffered effects (like a fuzz, which needs high impedence, i believe).  unless of course, you put the buffered at the end of the chain, although i think certain FFs dont like buffers anywhere in the chain, temperamental bastards.

Well OK, judging from that I guess it depends on you needs I don't use a FF and most of my effects are pretty well-behaved. If it were me I'd leave the buffer in, but hey, that's me

I imagine you could simplify still further by losing the input and output buffers.  (Then you'd be getting pretty close to an asymetric Son of Screamer.)   Ben

If you remove the buffers, you essentally have the Clark Gainster or Menatone Red Snapper!  :shock:
