Ok, i finally decided to put some articles up on my web space.  But i notice that just about every DIY musical-electronics site has some kind of liability disclaimers... from paragraphs of "legalize" to the simple and terse "i accept no responsibility for anything you do with this information".

My questions: 1) Do i need disclaimers?  2) If so, what things should i include?

Thanks!

"High' Voltage ... obviously, working with this stuff someone should have ample watnings.
I would say something simple like "you could kill yourself, [if the projects contain lethal voltage, and you're projects might not work".
Then say something positive like...ok...now that that's out of the way here's the good stuff...
I think i'ts definitely a good idea ... "only fair to warn you" ...
What IS lethal voltage...like everything else, I'm sure it varies///if you have a pacemaker for instance...or you're about to 'tick out anyway...I suppose you would need some current too..
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

Disclaimers will depend on what your are going to offer. Safety warnings may apply. It will also depend on anything you want to control. Do you care if other people take your layouts, pictures, information, work, etc. without permission ? Bascially are there any legal and moral things you want to protect yourself from. That will define if you need any disclaimers.

It takes only 5milliamps through your heart to throw you into cardiac arrest ;) Be careful out there! :o

A disclaimer would be something like "Eating batteries can be bad for your health. I will not be help responsible for any bodily harm to you or others causes by you attempting to eat batteries" ;)
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

What i basically want to do is give a little back to the DIY musical-electronics community.  The site won't be anything slick or commercial.  Maybe provide some info that i haven't seen around on the web (theory, schematics, mods, voltage measurements, sound samples).  I've been futzing around with stuff and gathering (and squirreling away!) articles since the early '70s.

For example, i was part of a recent thread that helped debug an old '60s fuzz.  Someone just asked for a schematic.  Since i now have the experience of building one and getting some voltage measurements, i figured i should get it together and finally do something more formal with my (largely unused) web space and post an article so the info is more easily accessable.

But i must admit to being, in this increasingly-litigatious world, somewhat worried about a "crazy" suing me or something (i see lots of "i'm not responsible for anything" notes on similar websites).  Or having a commercial company using the info for profit -- which has actually happened right here among us, IIRC.

So thanks for the suggestions so far!
