Help needed with 555 oscillator

Check it out... On my breadboard at this very moment there is a light-dependant 555 oscillator using the TI OPT101 IC. It rocks! Only, the oscillator is going from nice low 'V8 ticking over' sounds to air siren with very little hand movement. I think it's the 555, and I need a little help. Hang on a sec and I'll draw up a schematic and post it on my site. Bear with me. But the idea itself rocks! TI rocks for sending me those OPT101 chips! Yeah! 8)
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.
