you know, I've never been able to get a non-set screw knob to fit well (using shafts designed for them, of course) they always seem to go on sort of crooked, or not all the way down, or something.  Is there a trick to these things?  I bought some black gibson "speed knobs" for my guitar - and no luck whatsoever - To get them to lay flush enough against the body of the guitar, I had to back off the pots past where the shaft's thread could be gripped by the nut, and I had to push like all get out to get the darn thing to go on at all, even if I closed up the split in the shaft a fair bit . . ..  and these were pots designed for a guitar.  (sorry, kinda grumbly about this, the knobs look so nice, I wish I could get 'em to work)
