Italian made OC44!!?? Is there such an animal?

A guy just recently sold me 10 OC44.  He stated that they are Ialian made OC44.  They have the same shape and appearance of Mullard OC44, you know the black glass torpedo shaped jobs.  IS there such an animal as Italian made OC44 or is this guy just confused?  :?

No I haven't got them yet they are on the way from Italy.

Again I am asking the OC44 experts if any have seen or heard of Italian OC44 shaped just like Mullards?  I guess this question is more for the guys in Europe or UK who have had more exposure to OC44 trannys.

As far as I know, most of the OC44 where manufactured in the UK, in Southampton, to be more precise, 50 meters away from where I am sitting right now!!!!  My office used to be a mullard factory and became a philips semiconductors factory afterwards.

Yeah I had it confirmed from my vintage effect pedal expert.  He said there was no such animal.  The guy who sold them to me I think just assumed they were from Italy since that is where he is and where he found them.  He is not a effects maker he is just an electronics stuff seller.  He sells radios and receivers walky talkies etc.  Oh well!  They are Mullard I guess cause they have round tops.  I have a few Valvos or Philips that have almost flat tops.

I should gettting 10 OC44 from Mullard in the mail then!  Also coming with 10 OC72 and 2 OC71!  This will be fun.  All for $19.50 US.  Not bad I don't think.     I think I got a good deal that's all that matters.
