I have an exrtra JRC 4558d chip and would like to build a (very) simple booster with it.  i was wondering if anyone could make some plans for a booster with no switch just the chip and common resistors and capacitors. I'm such a newbee at making circuts but im good with the iron so i want to learn. Anyway thanks. oh yeah i have some pots out of an old guitar, but other than the pots caps res. and the chip thats pretty much all i have.

anyway thanks to whoever can help me put this opamp to good use.

I'm a real newbie at this too but i recently modded a pedal with that chip.

I did the "TS 808" mod to my Boss SD-1 pedal.  It was very simple.  I don't know if you have that pedal lying around, or a TS9 but you can perform that mod with that chip.
Not much else needed.

If you want i can send you the directions I was given to do this.

Although, i'm sure everyone in this forum knows how to do this already.

you could try the Tube Reamer at runoffgroove.com

its an overdrive.. not a boost.

hmm not really. i mean it gives a prtty good range of gain..

max gain at what around 470   and minum gain of

78.3

according to the basic gain principle or r2/r1

edited. also well i can see your point. as far as with a higher gain you would have more throw to the pot from low to high..  but with a minum gain of 78 then i dont' think its really meant to be a clean booster..  but i could be wrong..

Also at Runoffgrove if you take away all the octave crap from my NeOctavia, namely from the 22uF cap on,except the 100K pot you have a booster that uses both sides of the the 4558.All you have to do is choose an input and an output cap you like, could be a 0.1uF  etc.
I have to post the couple simple circuits I have based on this one.
