Is it possible to use JFETs with a bipolar power supply? If so, how do you do it? V+ to drain and V- to source?

Brett Clark

Yes.

Yes (if it's a N-channel FET).

Jay Doyle

You can do that, but to make it easier, I would put a 100k trim, one outer lug to ground, the other outer lug to V- and the wiper to your bias resistor to the gate. This will allow you to dial in the Vgs voltage easily and set the bias on the drain.

OK, so what do I do with the source? Connect it to ground?

No, connect the source to V-, either straight or through a resistor.

Paul Marossy

Okie dokie.

Thanks for all the help.  8)
