just built an EA trem according to the original schematic. Only mod was the one mentioned on GGG to reduce distortion. Built it on busboard (the stuff with two busses running down the middle and then rows of 3 connected holes on each side). I wish i could post the layout since it's very compact and you don't need to use a PCB, but it's all handdrawn and i have no scanner.

anyway, the thing works great. wish it had more range on the speed, maybe i'll try messing with that. I love the fact that it has a preamp in it to boost the volume. I always feel like the volume that I hear with trem on is lower than with it off, even though there's no volume drop. so i like that with this one you can boost the volume just a bit to compensate.

anyway, just thought I'd give my 2 cents in about this pedal. I'd definitely recommend building one. very simple and usable.

incidently: 25k audio pots can be had from webervst for $1.25 apiece.

That's great! This tremolo is a cool one, isn't it? I bet the guy that designed had no idea that it would be so popular 30 years or so after it was designed.

I love mine.  8)

Mine is also great 8) I built the runoffgroove one though, and it's begging for a box...
I don't like Holland. Nobody has the transistors I want.

I built mine from Nabke's site, using his basic PCB layout. I kind of designed my own layout, which is more compact than his version. I also had some 1uF film caps that were really small in physical size, so I have a pretty small PCB. The caps measure about 3/8"x3/8"x1/4". I don't have any idea who makes them or anything as they were in a pile of stuff that was given to me by an acquaintence.

I really like mine.  Used the Runoff grove version and it brings back the old Fender sound - nice and rich..............
