Hey all,

I need some help real quick.  I was reading the GEO article on picking transistors for FF circuits, I found the link on GGG.  I was sorting through the mouser part numbers and just want to make sure I have the right resistors before I order, just to double check.  I can't believe how many parts are out there...

And, for convinience here is the link for the GEO article (halfway through the second paragraph it states the values, for those of you who know already or haven't read the article).

Thanks a lot, Matt.

They're correct. For actual pedals, 1/4 watt would be the way to go, but for a tranny tester they're fine. Get a few of each so you can check em' with a DMM to get as close to the values that RG specifies.

thanks.  and you're right It was late and for some reason i looked up 1/2 watt.  but, no matter I guess.

Thanks for the help, Matt.

And, one more thing...

Is there anyone who can point me to a link for the part number on mouser for transistor sockets?  The round black ones like smallbears sells?

Thank you very much, matt.

Mill Max TO-5 mouser #575-93103. Same as Small Bear carries.

Just a note for those using the transistor tester for Si trannies.

If you build the tester with 22M and 250ohm resistors, the readout is 10,000hFE per volt.  This sounds riculous until you want to read Darlingtons.  One I read this morning (an MPSA14) had a hFE of 40,000   .

And with regular trannies 10hFE per mV gives about the right accuracy for most (all??) jobs.
