stoping umwanted oscillation?

i think i remember there being a couple tricks to stop unwanted oscillation in fuzz circuits...
anyone have ideas?

Ground plane Very close and under the circuit board?
 Shielded wiring for longer SP Wires?
 Keeping PS's away from SP?
 Everything from running certain wires parallel to LP filter caps...I think I typed a bunch of this out yesterday..
