beginner valve project

can anyone recommend a beginner valve project (ive never really done a valve project before)

There were some brilliant projects in Elektor magazine a few months ago.  Might be worth getting some back issues.  If you're interested I could dig them out and let you know the issue numbers.

Simple low-voltage headphone amp is a good place to start.
