Ok, 2 Q's... on the flanger schematic, what are IC 4 and 5 am I correct that IC4 is TDA1022 and IC5 is 4046? The text is a bit blurry is all

I've cleaned the IC lists up on the Flanger and Chorus schems.

The chorus schem says TDA1047 for the BBD but the text and parts list in the article says TDA1097, never heared of either chip.

Flanger text says that the delay line is largely as per the chorus, but the chip is different, TDA1022, and the LFO needs setting up differently to alter the range of sweep.

KarbonHed - thanks for posting this. Do you know, I don't remember this one in ETI and I would have read them all from about 1974 or thereabouts. I'd be interested to read the "How it works" text if that is at all possible, because the powering is unusual. I have never seen a circuit for a 1022 flanger with 5v fed to the BBD! The BBD input pin no. is missing - typical ETI, should be pin 5. Now, we all know we need to buffer the 4046 clock outputs don't we - and anything else?

Just a little note on the tda bucket brigade chips. They were discontinued in the early 80's and are virtually impossible to locate.

True, but the LFO section driving a 4046 and the rest of the signal path is still relevant to today's BBDs. A bit of tweaking and it's probably adaptable.

And the interesting modulation wave form is food for thought if nothing else, something like the Hypertriangle thing on Mark Hammer's site.
