Hi all,

With all of the cap types questions going on, I was wondering, does every place requeir a fancy cap or are certain places unimportant eanough - or aren't tone shaping that they could satisfy with regular, small, cheap caps.

(the reason I'm asking is because I went over my parts - what an agonizing thing THAT was - and found a s**t load of caps - sadly most aren't films.. and I want to use them without damaging my sound - if that's possible)

Regards,

I'll go out on a limb and say - learn what these caps sound like. Compare them to other caps and understand what type of sound they impart. Try them in tone control circuits after a harmonically rich input so you can hear how they affect the sound of your signal.

After that, remember this (write it down) and use them when might want the tone they impart.

Remember, lots of older pedals didn't use film everywhere .... people seem to like them to this day.
