This site looks interesting, anyone have any opinion on these.

Also would anyone know where I can get parts for this?

Welcome BJoe! :D

Thanks for the link. Sorry, I don't know about all the parts, but you can get the "greenie" caps from http://www.circuitspecialists.com and they might have more of the caps too. When it comes to ceramic caps, there are high voltage and low voltage versions.... you might want to try both if you want to emulate all the changes on that page. I think the 1S1588 is very close to 1N4818/1N914.

If you want more mods and improvements for the TS-9/808, search the forums with the search link above.

Take a look at who drew the schematic on that TS-9 page. Hehehe. ;)

Take care,

Sometimes, changing cap types can change the sound. In this case, changing brands of the same type of cap, for example, one brand of tantalum for another, is probably not going to change anything. It sounds like a lot of effort just to make a TS-9 reissue sound like an original TS-9. If it even works, is that desireable? Sounds like "mojo " to get "SRV in a box". Waste of time looking for that.

What sound are you looking for?

Most people mod a TS-9 to sound like an original 808. Simple, one Op-Amp and two reisistors. There are mods to improve the fidelity (very nice) and gain. Also, many don't like the strong midrange sound of the pedal, and there are mods to improve the bass response.

Read the Technology of the Tubescreamer at GEO:

Also, here's a basic TS-9/808 mod in pic form:

Thanks for the response guys. I already changes the output resistors and the chip. What I looking for is a mod to make it more transparent sounding.

A few things you can do for transparency. Change the 510k resistor in the input buffer section to 620k for better clarity, both when the pedal is on, or bypassed. Change the 1uf non-polorized electrolytics to 1uf metal film. Change the .22uf tantalums to .22uf metal film. The 51pf ceramic cap can be changed to 51pf silver mica. These are subtle, but cumulative changes. Metal film resistors for the 10k and 100 ohm you already changed helps too.  I would say to change one diode to a 1N4001 for a more tube like sound, but this is starting to get into gain type mods.
