hey guys,
New guy here.. good to see a forum for such things.

Look forward to talking to the cool people here.

anyways, I got a question about the Stereo Microamp here:
http://www.tonepad.com/project.asp?id=28

Does that actully have 1 or 2 Inputs and outputs??  and does it have gain control on each side??

Reason being is I thought it would be a cool idea to build one instead of 2, which helps me to use 1 as an active buffer and use the 2nd one as a solo boost or boost when using single coil pickup in a humbucker setup system.

thanks,
Duke

ok.. i noticed that I can download a schematic for it and I checked it out and it seems as it has 2 inputs and 2 outputs and control for each channel using a 500k pot.

But my next question leads to.. are both sides connected to 1 switch?? no switch at all? or each has its own switch?

and finally.. it this pedal true bypass?

thanks,
Duke

Welcome:

Looking at the schematics you'll notice two separate schems, each with their own true bypass switching(represented by the line from in to out running under each).

You have the option here to either:

1. Run one output of one switch into the input of the 2nd switch for a dual mono booster, with the option of setting each one at a different level, sort of like an opamp Super Duper 2n1.

2. Run them separately each with individual ins and outs, which would give you the option of either patching them together as in (1.), or running a different input into each one for true stereo.

Life's full of choices, and so is this project.

hey RVD,
thanks for the welcome...  I guess running them as 2 seperate pedals but then chain them together using a patch cord, that way, I can leave 1 on all the time as an active buffer, and then use the second one when I need it as a solo boost of a Boost for single coil guitar when Iwant it to match the humbucker level guitar.

Thanks,

I put DMM to beep mode, with terminals across circuits battery clip.
So far I haven't heard a beep doing this.
Sure beats the frying of one battery, and the smell of another circuits burning wires...lol...that's when I started checkin for shorts after a longer wiring session/ battery clip connecting, which I tend to do near the last with the pots or other offboard stuff.
