modding pedals to accept line level (+4dbu) signal??

hey guys,
Is there a way to mod pedals like Boss pedals to be able to accept line level when mixing with rack gear??

Ofcourse without the hassle of buying all these mixers, etc..

You can modify the input to attenuate the level but the pedal will still not be +4 capable on the output.
Ebtech makes a line level shifter that will do what you want.
