im putting the bass feed mod on my ff (detailed here scroll down the page)

the schematic says 100k for the pot but im not sure wether to buy an audio or linear pot.

suggestions?

thanks

Youll probly like the lIn Taper pot better.
If this is a pot used as a single V/R [variable resistance/two leads coming off it] use, you'll notice that an audio tapers effect is more concentrated at one end to the point where about half the travel has little or no effect in the circuit operation.
Either will provide the range of 0k-100k, audio taper means much of that resistance range will be 'bunched up' at one end of the pots shaft travel range.
I could figure out how to put on tapering resistors to counteract that, would I think lower the pots total value, a matter of need/taste as to how much one worries about it...can't beat having the right pots tho.
That TS Tone pot throws me every time, I end up tapering on it one way or another to get what I want, but then turning the pot has diminished effect I think, hardly worth the pot and knob at that point.
You can build the equivalent of a '100k Lin. *pot set ' actually a divider, using two seriesed 50k resistors. either end of the seriesed 50k's would be the end lugs of the *pot, where the two 50k connect..the wiper. Lower one sides resistance and raise the other one an equal R value amount and have resistances like your turning the *pot up or down.
Hook DMM wires to test clips to your different pots, and watch the numbers rise and fall differently, when connected from wiper to one outside of an audio taper pot then try the other sides lug from wiper [from wiper to one outside lug at a time] turn the pot to half way and measure one side then the other...
A lin. will have equal taper from either side, and half way shaft position should divide fairly evenly the resistance from the middle [wiper] to either side [lugs 1 and 3].
Convention creates following, following creates convention.
