hey guys,
I was thinking of building somthing like a 3 or 5 band parametric eq. So I wanted to see if anybody has built one before and how the results were.

any info would help.

thanks,

But I too am preparing to delve into it.
You probably saw the one band bass EQ...the metal pedal thread.
I'm thinking of something non user friendly, that I could treat given frequency bands differently.
Like tuning an active crossover, eliminating all the highs and mids for instance, would give the tuner much greater focus on what the bass alone is doing, and could use the isolated sound of the low end components to tune them to a given tone, then compare how different bass end tunings sound with full range mixed in.
Or simply to have no reverb on the bass tones etc.
Ive never read about tuning parametric filters used in such an application, I think alot could be done with this and other tone controlling devices, I think maybe a whole lot of filtering could have undesirable side effects?
My guess is that the more times you filter and recover gain, the less of the original signal will be left to work with?
I'm not trying to turn this into the opening of a big box of worms [though my first board may appear as such], more a searching for questions to illicit response from those whove worked with such devices in other or similar applications that may have soem trial and error/success type notes.
