I'm running my guitar into 1 amp's input, going out the effect loops send, into the effect loop return of a different amp (to play both amps at once). I do hear a little hum in the background, but nothing huge.

My questions are, will I hurt either amp by doing this (they are both tube amps, btw), and is there anyway to elimanate the hum?

Thanks guys!

should in no case hurt any of the amps nor FX.
first try: turn around one of the amp`s power plugs by 180 degree:
does hum get louder, or get away?

bzzzt!

I smell a ground loop.  Power ground, through first amp, through effect loop out, into second amp, back through power ground.

Disconnect one end of the ground (shielding) on the cable that interconnects the amps to break the loop.

Let us know if any of our suggestions have worked!

You shouldn't harm your amps, but a better solution would be to build a buffer/splitter box.
