I just wonder if this would be a good idea?

Like yourself, I'm a little tired of distortion circuits and tend to work on other things.  However, this is a forum intended for beginners and the majority of them start off with Fuzz/Distortion/Overdrive.

It's probably the single most important effect for the average guitarist too, so I don't think it's a good idea to fragment the Forum.

no, no, no, no, no, and no.

What else is there besides distortion?!

One thing I like about this forum is that there isn't all of the sub-forums for stuff to get lost in. Most people seem to not stay in the right sub-forum when they post anyway. Kind of like Ampage... but, I do like the way you can see the threads over at Ampage. I tend to ignore everything that isn't on the first page ot two here.

I like it just the way it is...

If you sub-catagorize things... then people will stay inside their "box".

Seeing things you would not typically look for gives you a well-rouneded experience, and i think it makes us better people.

Yeah, I'm with Sic on this one...

Sic, now you're just trying to pad your count.  ;)   I agree, I think the one forum is enough. No need to splinter us out. I love having a one stop shop forum for all my effects needs.

Yeah, 588 posts, and only joined in November, Sic, you have a buttload of catching up to do buddy!   :)

I sorta thought that's what THIS was.

Now, lets think about how to get some BBE chips.
