Is the Marshall Jackhammer JH-1 like a poorman's Tonebone Hot British?  How would the Jackhammer hold up next to the Tonebone Hot British?

I just picked up a used JH-1 pedal at a local pawnshop today, it's in mint condition and the price was right.  I must say that this is one of the better stack-in-a-box pedals out there IMHO.

The only thing that I don't care for is the excessive low-end but I may remedy that with a DIY mod, also I find the "Distortion" mode un-useable in its stock form.  Mods will be in order to tweak this thing up properly, any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

I don't think this is what you are looking for but it is a *modified* Jackhammer. About 4 years ago I got one of these at a carboot. I was into circuit bending at the time so you can imagine what I did to it. Basically it can make all sorts of 'wierd' sounds. As you can see from the image I did all sorts of stuff to it. It was already painted that horrible black colour :-/ I'll have to find it and do something about it!

I'm not quite shure, but I think the dist/od switch can be used for more than two positions (according to the schematic at least). One idea would be to add more options for clipping devices i.e. assymmetrical, FETs, etc...

Here's the schem
