3 knob tonebender (Colorsound or boutique)?

I have all my parts and was about ready to do the color sound version. Now I'm wondering if I should do the boutique (soul bender) version instead.

Anyone here prefer one versus the other? What does the 500k trim pot do for the distortion in terms of variation?
