Build report: Ge Fuzz Face (pic/soundclip)

Soundclip - Played with a 1981 Tokai Silver Star (70's strat) through a small, bad sounding SS Peavey amp, miced with a MD421. I use the guitar to change sounds, all knobs on the pedal are untouched throughout the clip.

It's a stock Fuzz Face (positive ground, pnp) with one Fuller-mod (1k pot between the 470R and the bias trimpot). I used trannies with higher Hfe (120 + 170) than recommended, giving the pedal a somewhat mushy, thick character. Therefore, it will be named Mosig Banan (translates "Soft and mushy Banana"). The Fuller mod hardly does anything with the fuzz wide open but at lower gain settings it seems to controll the harmonics and "grainyness" of the higher mid range. I found a setting i like and might swap it for a fixed resistor and pot the bias knob in it's place.

Nice build. I'm still a Fuzz Face virgin, have to build one. I should have the necessary parts.

Great thread in the other forum, I loved Pernilla the Godzilla! I think i have to use some time on that forum as well.
