Boutique FF contour pot problem /NPN version.

I built a boutique fuzz face (GGG site), NPN transistor version
with 2 BC108 transistors and it works ok and with contour and bias
you can dial lots of sounds out of it but there's a slight problem
with the contour pot. It loses all the sound when turned to furthest
(both directions) point, it works well in the middle position.
I know that this circuit wasn't necessary designed for BC108's
but any suggestions are welcome. The pot is a 1k linear, maybe
changing this one helps?

(I built the PNP/AC128 version as well and it works ok)
