I have an MN3005 4096 long bed delay BBD and MN3101 clock generator to go with it and I'm looking for a project to use them in.

There is a reverb schematic and layout on the 3005 data sheet but I'm not sure it was intended for a guitar. Here is the schematic http://home.earthlink.net/~rlbjr65/id1.html Sorry I have'nt figured out how to post files on my home page yet but I found the data sheet easily enough with Google. Also hammer (Thank's great site!!) has a zip file with lots of BBD data sheets http://hammer.ampage.org/

What I would really like to build is a chorus, maybe this reverb, a flanger or ??.  Any suggestions ?

You could build one hell of a chorus "normal" chorus BBD's have 1024 stages the MN3005 has as you say 4096 stages to get the small delay times found in chorus you will need higher (4 times higher) clock but this get's you higher bandwidth you could properly need to mod the small clone design a lot but could be done..

The only thing that might be a problem will be the delay time may be to long even at max clock frequency witch is 100Khz according to the data sheet.. I don't know if you can push this further I have never worked with a MN3005...

Min delay: 0.5 * (1 / (100KHz / 4096)) = 20.48ms

The MN3005 has 20dB improved S/N ratio over the MN3007 this means less noise always cool...

Hope I am of some help..

Or you could always do a delay..

Thanks Claus! Not much of a delay fan or maybe I just have not used a good one. Any suggestions?

I thought about trying to mod it into a Zombie Chorus but as you suggested with the Small Clone it would require a lot of changes.
That's probably beyond my skill level, maybe I'll stick them in my breadboard study some more schematics and see if I can hack something together.

Thanks again

You could mod the Zombie Chorus to use the MN3005 if you got the MN3101 use what instead of the 4046 it's easier to work with..

To increase the clock frequence reduce the value of the cap on pin 5 of the MN3101..(I don't have to tell you) :) :) :)

Delay whise have you tried the T-rex ?? Replica Or if you are into the BBD delay thing the Carl Martin Delayla is nice.. I go for rack stuff myself when it comes to delay..

Thank's again Claus I think I may try something with the Zombie looks more do-able to me.

I did like the slapback on T-Rex found some sound samples with google, It's pretty pricy though.
