Does anyone know of a schematic or digram of how to wire 2 3PDT switches for an A/B/Y box (w/LEDs)?  I have seen the transformer based A/B/Y box but I would like something that can operate with out power (obviously the LEDs won't work without power but at least the switch will).  Grounding is important but I will not be using the box for running 2 amps, so the transformers are overkill and I want the build as simple as possible.  I can't seem to figure out how to wire the grounds or the LEDs.  Thanks for any help I am starting to get frustrated.

Look for audioguy's thread from Friday headed "How do I put together an A/B with a DPDT".  There are a couple of possibilities for an A/B/Y box with LEDs in that thread.  I'll vouch for one of them because I built it when I was too inept to even be a newbie.

Even if you're not using it with two amps, I'd still go for something with some circuitry to prevent humming. I use a passive 3pdt to switch between the Normal and Bright channels on my Sovtek. I run a distortion on one channel and when I switch channels, the background noise from the distortion is still audible on the clean channel at almost the same volume as on the distortion channel.

Anyways, do a search for Gilles Caron. He did some drawings awhile ago. That's what I used.

Glad to know I've been of some help.  :D

That will be my motivation for this week.  :P

That's the part I want to move to my new host this week. I also wanted to correct a few things at the same time.

That's the page: http://members.tripod.com/gillcar/id19.htm (Danger, banners aheads   )

but as you don't need the "effect loop" option, you may prefer this drawing: http://www.fulltone.com/PdfFiles/ab.pdf

I don't have any shematics of my A/B/Y BOX now.
But it's not that diffcult to figure it out.

The A/B switch has a X-wiring for muting unused channel.

The Y switch connects A and B together when activated, it is also used to cut off the muting ground connection when Y is on.

Ground is conected to the sleeve of all phone jacks.
I DIY therefore I am.

I wonder if the one in the FAQ section of this board would work? Amp/Tuner box???

If you want to drive two sources like amp inputs at the same time you should really go for a simple active box.

Schematic, layout, and PCB are in the downloads area. Maybe tack on some isolation transformers like in the GEO's Spyder if you get hum.
