Hell yeah!  I just finished my re-built TS-808 last night and fired it up long enough to see if it works and all the knobs are functioning properly.  Quite a huge departure from my last attempt, which I still can't figger out why it don't work.

Funny looking at the old one and my old half-completed BSIABII--they're so huge!  I used a way too big perf board, and thought I had to use the whole thing.  Now those two old circuits look kinda rediculous!  Now that I've put something in a box (BMP clone) I kinda know what to expect as far as use of space, and that I can make things alot smaller.

Getting pretty quick now, too.  Before, I would populate the board, solder all components in place, then attach leads AFTER cutting them all off.  Silly me!  I can cut the time in half if I dont' clip leads, and connect components together on the board as I solder them in place.

Glad my stuff is starting to fire right up.  I was getting pretty frustrated.  I'll have to re-build my Phase 45 after I'm done with these two (it's too big, and didn't fire right up).

Hey Danny,

Congratulations!  It's pretty satisfying to fire up something you built yourself, isn't it?  :)

Thats great Danny !
It takes a bit of time with all this stuff, you know ? like getting the electronics right, drilling the box, wiring/painting.........
just take your time, rushing any off this hobby is a recipe for failure !!
I got real lucky with my first three builds, they all work very well ! the BSIAB II is a F***in MONSTER !!
Have fun, and remember there are fantastic and skilled people at this site, who will help out, no matter what :D

Cheers, and keep playin as well as buildin !

I still haven't played it through my stage rig (Marshall full stack w/JCM800), but can't wait to.  I played it at home again and tested it against my Boss Turbo Overdrive, and it made the Boss pedal sound like ASS!!!  Very pleased, as I use the Boss at home to record straight into my 8-track, and have gotten good results with it.  Next to the TS, I could NOT get a decent soud out of it.  Heh heh.

Might have to build another for home use.  Or just fire up the Tube Reamer, which I thought I salvaged for parts but didn't.  And I got the right chip fer that one finally...

Hey  Danny,
I've got a nice "reamer" mod if you would like to try it, sounds great and allows it to "clean up" at lower drive settings a little, Fretwire also likes this one and helped me to find the values :

Change the Gain pot to a 50k from a 5k
Change the 1k to gain lugs 1/2 to 2.4k
Change the 470k to gain lug 3 to a 150k or 200k
Done !

Cheers,
Marty. :D
