..I didnt read through all of the suggestions, so perhaps someone else came up with the same..a little geeky perhaps, and need to bring out your artistic skils...take a fiberglass laminate, etch her ( or your ) picture on it and put a light behind...if you have a good photograph, you could put it through something like "photoshop" play around with the contrasts until you get only the significant features, then do it with photografic transfer or press'n'peel...as I said...a little geeky..but still art..

I did have to break out the soldering iron to fix a vibrator once...No joke.

I was working on an electronic bra once for my girlfriend. It came apart when you pressed a button.pl

My gal had a rather, um, SHITTY 20-hour ride home on the bus yesterday which resulted in an apple-juice-soaked laptop.  And it probably won't be covered in the ridiculously overpriced future shop warranty she bought for it either.  Now, yep, you've guessed it, the most expensive thing to fix, the screen, will not turn on.  Hopefully it's just a matter of cleaning those crystallized juice-particles outta there and we won't end up paying too much, but shit.  Couldn't come at a worse time.   :x  :x  :x

If you want to melt a girl's heart with electronics prowess, fix something of hers that breaks and is expensive.  I sure wish I could right now! :(

Do any women read this forum? I mentioned it to my wife last night and she said it sounds like we are all a load of geeky men with nothing better to do! She didn't mind when I built her a Deluxe Bazz Fuss as she's used it ever since.

I could not imagine my wife would like Theremin but that is cool idea anyway. When we started dating I tried to give false impression of myself and fixed some things in her apartment. Not long since she smiling remembered me when I fixed her kitchen radio 20 years ago (I just added three-legged voltage regulator and cool-looking green led on old leftover ac adaptor). Last christmas I bought her a mini stereo (heehe I listen it more than her). It has output for subwoofer and really needs it so maybe I´ll do that for her someday.

Another trick I might try again in the future, is about how your partner reacts and feels about your hobby. The amount of money, time, and inconvenience when I have built something causes her negative feelings. Last time when I did mail order some expensive stuff for my last audio project I ordered some nice stuff for her. It cost me only 19 euros and she is happily waiting when we can use what I bought her:

That sounds like a left-handed gift, like a negligee. Did you really make that for her or you?
