i had the same 0 volume buzz with my negative ground FF.  rebuilt it 5 or so times with the same results.  Finially switched to positive ground and it went away.

Thanks again everyone.  The LED and LED bezel came from Small Bear Electronics.  He's slow to ship, but a very nice guy.

I'm pretty much convinced that the hiss at zero is normal for the neg ground version.

The transistors also came from Small Bear, so Q1 is rated at 82, and Q2 is 118.  He recommended to use resistors as follows:

R2: 39k
R3: 150k
R4: 470 ohms
R5: 3.9k

Pedal sounds great!

That's a mighty nice lookin' stompy!

what technique did you use for the lettering?

Agreed, nice looking build and very neatly done inside

You simply do not want to know how many times Ive put the wrong component in the wrong place, or completely misread colour bands.

Thats what I really like about this forum ... a fresh pair of eyes can see things that tired eyes dont
