Is the red dot on a OC44 transistor the emitter?

I just bought some Mullard OC44 transistors and the pins aren't set in a triangle like the other transistors I've been using.

All 3 pins are in a straight line and there's a red dot next to one of the pins, is that the emitter?

I like to debug with a run of the mill transistor like 2n3906, that way I don't get the precocious Germanium all revers biased or anything.
Never seen an 0C44 up close.
You can find the emitter, using the diode checker of a DMM to find the Base Emitter Diode.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

I have an OC44 in my hand right now, the red dot is the collector, with pinout CBE.

Thanks guys,

I would've hooked that baby up backwards if not for your posts.

I've never seen a red dot not be the collector. One for the FAQ, maybe?
