Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has ever used a relay as a switch? Are there any blatantly obvious problems im missing? to me it seems like it should work ok.

what am i trying to do?

ok i want to use a normal push button (momentary spst) to supply power to the coil in the relay to activate the dpdt.

or perhaps even use a photcell into a comparitor so that i could activate an effect simply by passing my foot over the photocell.

i have never worked with relays but i have read about how they work and it seems liek this should be ok.

i pulled a sony reciever out of the trash and it has a few dpdt relays in it. any help / comments apreciated.

the only issue against relay, is power-consumption in battery-pedals;
E-H tube-pedals all use mini DPDT relays for bypass.
