Anyone dissected one of these to see what makes them work?

Does anyone here even know what a Sobbat is?!

:D

The Edge was using them a lot on the All That You Can't Leave Behind album/Elevation Tour (actually, I think it's the main distortion in the song "Elevation").

I'm interested in seeing whether they're an original or whether they're an octave fuzz type of thing that would be easy to build...

Nothing, huh?

Well, it was worth a try!

Guess I'll have to sell some stuff off and buy one for myself.

I haven't got a schematic but your money wouldn't be wasted on these they sound (and look) really good.  Check this demo out:

Consider it hearsay, but I vaguely remember reading somewhere that all the "drive" pedals are TS derivatives.

I have a drive breaker 1 & 3.
I'll take some gut pics.

From memory, DB3 is like a fulldrive, ts gain and sound but no midrange hump - balanced tone.  It uses two jrc4558D chips (cascading gain?
?). I think it's an offshoot of a ts circuit? But don't quote me.

DB1 briefly looked had a 16 pin opamp and jrc4558D.
