MXR Phase 90 Clone Q's??

I completed the MXR Phase 90 from tone pad and it sounds pretty good. My only issue is with the ticking it produces when I run it through the high gain channel on my amp. What causes this and what can I do about it.

IIUC, because Mine ticks a little somtimes.
 Long Wires, maybe shielding long signal path wires helps.  
 LFO's Make noise, layout may matter..did you perf or PCB it?
 Mine seems sensative ticking wise to battery voltage, works great at 10vdc, ticks at around 12+VDC. HEadroom seems the same so I don't run it on my HV batteries [14.4 max].
 I had mine in with a Fuzz box and then it ticked no matter what.
