transistors question, help please.

but the man at the shop were i got my parts forgot to give me my transistors :x  anyway i have u transistors with c2240 gr2j written on them, the parts list says i need 2N5088 or 2N5089 but could i use this "c2240 gr2" transistors i have?

i also have two trans that have "K30A GR2J"

could i use them?? please help if you can.

The C2240 are NPN transistors and have ECB pinout.
The K30A are jFets.

oh.....ok... can you break that down for me......can i use them or not?  :?  sorry im very much new to all of this.

The C2240,yes BUT the pins(or legs) are slightly different than the 2N5088 and 2N5089.Facing the flat side of the transistor the legs for the C2240 are left to right- 1.emitter  2.collector  3.base,as for the 2N5088 and 2N5089 the legs are left to right- 1.emitter  2.base  3.collector.I hope this helps.
