is it a comum problem ... that nobody can fix
loop box pedal

U asked a very general Q.
is it the only box of yours that pops?
How R U using it??(GeeTar/amp/loops??)??
No, not a problem *all*  the time.
All "fixes" are similar....
It wouldn't B a "fix" if it wasn't "fixed".
hope this generally answers your general Q.

1) Loop box = switch a send/return loop?

2) Pop = popping noise when you switch?

When a pedal has a capacitor connected to the input and NO resistor going to ground from there, you can have a popping problem.  The capacitor needs a way to drain/bleed current to ground when you are not using it.

If you have an effect like this in your loop, put a 1M to 2M2 resistor between hot and ground on the "Send" jack.  That should fix things.

I allready done this ... but thanks for the Tip.

thank you

Misunderstanding about the drain resistor.  The place where it needs to be is on any capacitor on the input or output that does not have a path back to ground (which could be through another device like a transistor) on each end.

*IF* a cap does not have an opportunity to continuously drain any stored charge, then when you switch to it and *finally* give it an opportunity to drain, you will hear a pop.

*IF* the Send jack is hardwired to a circuit somewhere inside the loop box, then yes putting the drain resistor across the jack should reduce pop.  If the loop box has an active circuit in it with a cap on either input or output that has no path to ground, then you will hear some popping even with the jack resistor, because the cap is being given an opportunity to discharge when you hit the switch..

Question:  What are you plugging in to this loop box?  Maybe the problem is not the loop box but a problem with the pedals you are using ALONG with the loop box.
