h'llo everyone.  i was wondering if you could give me some recommendations on 1/4" jacks to use.  i tried some "economy" neutrik jacks on my last build, and they act really weird.  the input grounds out if i push it all the way in.  i would really like some good quality jacks to use that i won't have problems with. thanks a bunch.

I always use Switchcraft 1/4" jacks.  You can get them from Mouser Electronics (//www.mouser.com) for not very much.  They're very high quality and they last a long time.

Switchcraft stereo (for input jack battery switching) 1/4" open-frame jack: 502-12B
Switchcraft mono 1/4" open-frame jack is: 502-11

Hope this helps some!

most definitely!  thanks a bunch.  is there any big advantage to the plastic encased ones over the open framed ones?  again thanks.

I use the platic frame ones (Switchcraft). Get yourself a real switchcraft, and then you'll see how well made and smooth they are. I use plastic only to prevent shorting (very remote possiblilty, and so I can enter it into my CAD program easier.
