I have built one of this from schematic that was available online (Rob Strand's Sprinkle Drive). The schem is lacking the output buffer. Does anyone know what buffer is used in the real thing?
Also what overdrive is the Sparkle Drive based on?
It looks similar to a MXR Dist +.

As far as I know, the Sparkle Drive is a tubescreamer clone that allows you to dial back in some of the clean signal. I would imagine the output buffer would also be from the TS circuit.

From what I know, the Sparkle Drive is supposed to sound like a TS. But, the circuit doesn't look like one. The clipping stage comes after the output of the 2nd opamp. The first opamp is used on the clean sound. With the TS the clipping diodes go across output of the opamp, and the inverting input.
Just wondering, so I see what possible mods I could do to the ciruit.
I would like to have the same tone (mid-boost) as the TS.

The Sparkle Drive has 4 opamps! Four! Why does it have four? What is each one doing?
