TS9 weirdness with signal output

I have a TS9 that only passes signal when the guitar volume is in the 3-7 range. If the guitar volume is on 10, there is silence. When there is audible signal, it is very weak compared to what my other ts9's can put out. Any idea on what component I need to check/change to get this pedal working again?

The same symptoms are evident with any of my electric guitars. With another ts9 side by side the problem is still there as well.

DIY or storebought?

If DIY: physical switching or electronic switching?

Store bought Ibanez pedal with electronic switching.

check if any one of the pots turned and is touching the enclosure. I had a similar problem, and that was the source of it

Thanks, the pots are all in straight order. I even unscrewed them and let them hang outside the enclosure with the same results.

More info:
The problem is there when the pedal is on or off.
Sound comes through the pedal amost with a pop when the guitar volume is on 5 and stops when the guitar volume gets to about 9.

I guess that somwhere in the pedal's input section there is something that should be responding to the signal level coming in and is not doing so?

Sounds like maybe it's a bad tranny in the switching CRKT. also testing with an audio probe is always worthwhile.

You can use one or two audio probe. with one probe you just plug the output to an amp (I use a modded Computer speaker) and the probe to you guitar or preferably to a signal generator. you stick the GROUND CLIP on to the commen ground and strat following the signal path with the SIGNAL CLIP. this way you can isolate the problem. with two probe it's the same method but the output is probed too, so you can better isoolate stages.

This is one of the more important Debuging tool you can have, next to a DMM.

Good luck, keep us posted with your findings.

PS - if the problem is in the switching CRKT then you sould get good sound when you probe the input buffer, output buffer and gain+tone sections seperatly. the bypass goes from right after the input buffer to the output buffer. I suggest you build yourself a couple of probes.
