Distortion wont turn off!

I have a boss DS-1 that i have done a few mods to.

But my problem is that the distortion pedal wont turn off when its pugged in now.

I checked alll the wires and they seem okay but when I step on the pedal to turn it off the distortion and the little light remain on.

I'm wondering if maybe the little black switch is broken?

any help is appreciated.

if you have a meter, check the swith.  Also try shorting the switch wires withe  a screwdriver or a jumper, momentarily, and seeing if that does anything.

I figured out that it has something to do with the input. I've been testing different things and sometimes when I plug into the input the pedal turns on and other times the pedal stays off. But I cant figure out why?

the input connects the battery.  Wheter it starts on or off has somethign to do wtih the state of the flip flop circuitry - it might be random, I dont know.  If it doesn't switch, something is either wrong wtih teh switch or the associated circuitry.

i meant though if i plug in to it and it starts on- then i cant turn it off and if i plug into it and its off then it wont turn on when I stomp on it.
