LDR to enable/bypass a Wah

Here's my idea.

1.) Mount an LDR on the top of the Wah's foot plate.
2.) Connect  the LDR to a light activated switch circuit.  Something like this http://www.ozitronics.com/docs/k79a.pdf but replace the relay with some cmos switching.
3.) When you put your foot on the wah, the LDR goes dark and the circuit is activated
4.) When you remove your foot, the LDR goes light and the circuit is bypass.

Feasible?  Maybe not so good for dark stages? Improvements?

i'm not all that electronics savy, but i would think   that setup would treading on unstable territory.

those LDR controlled night-lights come to mind.  (you know,  those times where its in-between and they hover in a flicker)

thats a thread i started about wah switching.  same concept  but i went the mechanical approach.

There is a ramp up and down on an LDR, I looked into something similar... The time delay between stopping the light and the LDR is small, but quite significant... Probably small enough to miss your first note of the solo...

Yeah a momentary DPDT is a much better idea.  I suppose a LDR is just going a bit Heath Robinson .

I normally try to go "heath robinson" when I dont understand the way in which I should be doing it, so I try to hash it up with my own limited knowledge...
