Another option for mounting commercial pedals

Here's another option to mount commercial pedals to your pedalboard without damaging the pedal, sort of like using dismantled bike chains. I was using pipe strapping last night and noticed that it's like a 10' strip of continuous "8"s. They're not as rigid as the bike chain links, but plenty strong enough to hold a pedal. I think it's also available in copper, but the stuff I had was steel.

I like to use that steel pipe strap to secure wall warts to pedal boards. It works pretty well.

Sorry, don't know what the hell you mean. I understand Pieces of 8, Rocket 88!

It looks this this:

It comes in rolls. You cut it to length and fasten whatever with it. You can get a roll of it at Walmart for $1.29 or something like that. It's cheap.

Thanks for the picture, Paul. :)

The kind I have (from Canadian Tire) looks more like a continuous strip of "8"s, or a continuous strip of bike chain links. More rounded, as opposed to the straight type that Paul showed. If you cut it carefully (with tinsnips) you can get "8" shaped pieces, just like the bike chain links, but a little bigger and much cheaper.

Hmmm.... do you have a picture of that stuff? I haven't seen that type before. That stuff in the picture works great for certain things other than strapping a pipe to something.

Hi Paul...

I just emailed a picture to the email address on your website.

HTH! :)

Dean-

Thanks. That's very interesting pipe strap, never seen that type before. Definitely looks cooler than that stuff I normally use. If I was to physically fasten my pedals to my pedal board, I would use your stuff.

Here's what it looks like for the curious:
