Last month i´ve asked  in this forum ,about making a loop box whit no poping noise , ... (And thanks  you all for the reply) well i found this article in GEOFEX A Remote Indicating Effects Bypass System
by R.G. Keen  , it's a loop box made whit a relay switch , as the autor describes it as no poping noise, because the swithing it´s made by the relay and not by a mecanic device such a switch , in this project  the switch it´s only to turn on or off the relay .
Once again... as anybody tryed to made this ?

A relay is a mechanical device.  The only difference is that it's controlled electronically not by direct mechancial action as a toggle or pushbutton switch is.
Passive sucks.

I build a remote loop box that works great.  It even has a remote footpedal that can be operated wirelessly.  Mine was probably made execessivy complicated, but that was purely for academic (learning) purposes.  The beauty of such a project is that you can scale the size and complexity of the build to suit your individual needs.

Take a look at http://www.circuitmuse.com/circuitmuse_004.htm

The relay switching part of this design draws a tremendous inspiration by combining and mixing RG's various switching articles.  I started this project with absolutely zero knowledge of switching systems, and learned everything needed to build the box at the above URL from RG and a sprinkling of other cites found using Google.

Oh, and btw, I have operated the unit for several months and have not had a single problem with clicks, pops or other switching noise, even when using high gain (e.g., Blackfire, Obsidian, etc.) stompboxes in the loops.

Best of luck

Tom

THANKS CHICO  :D
What a nice Project , this is very professional, i think i don`t have the skills to do such a project ,uau.....
i was thinking on making a simple loop box whit one input  ,one output and a send /return jack but whit no poping noise a very simple box ...
and i was wondering if i could use a relay switch to avoid that hum and noise switching .

Do you have a layout for that? or do you think i can use that from Geofex , by R.G.Keen .

Chico,

You are a rockstar.  I really need to look into making a switching system.  I have enough effects now, but my pedalboard just isn't working...  I have 1 or 2 more to build, and then I'm going to spend some time on the GEOFEX articles...

Ruimacao:

I'd be glad to share my work, but the relays are designed to be driven by a microcontroller.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?  Do you want a single channel remote switcher?

If that is the case, I would go to
http://www.geofex.com/

A ways down the page, there is a switching article dated 2/27/03 "A remote footswitch bypassing system, now including PCB..."

That project is for a six switch box, but the first page shows a nice illustration of a single channel.  That may be a good place to start.

Best of luck to you,

Tom

Mark:  Come on...Do you REALLY have enought effects now?  I did not think that there was such a thing.
