Is there a way to increase the gain of this cicuit ? I'm not looking to achieve FF proportions but just a bit more drive when cranked.

Put 2 in series.

Using a cap across the emitter resistor...you may want to adjust that R value then too. Every time I tried this it changes the voiceing and increases output...EZ enough to try...
